As part of their history unit, Year 3 have been investigating the local area and considering which buildings are of historical significance and should be preserved. Their journey began with Tamworth Castle, where they explored its fascinating history and created eye-catching posters to encourage people to visit.
They then turned their focus to their very own school — and what an incredible discovery it was! The children examined old photographs, exercise books, and even log books kept by former headteachers, some dating all the way back to 1899. Wow!
Inspired by their findings, they launched a campaign to ensure that their amazing school is preserved so that its rich history can live on for future generations.
Well done, Year 3 — your passion for local history is truly inspiring!
