We are proud to celebrate a landmark year of academic achievement for our oldest pupils. Since becoming an academy, the school has demonstrated consistent growth across key performance areas, with this year’s SATs results reflecting significant progress and pupil success.

The current Year 6 cohort’s outcomes are particularly encouraging, with performance exceeding national averages in nearly every subject. In a year defined by dedication, resilience, and a strong focus on pupil development, Dosthill has achieved its highest combined score in Reading, Writing, and Maths at the expected standard or above since its first inspection as an academy school in 2022. With 66% of pupils meeting the expected standard across all three core subjects, the school has not only surpassed the national average of 62% but also continued its upward trend in overall attainment.

Excellence in English:

English results highlight the school’s ongoing investment in literacy and its commitment to nurturing a love of reading and writing across all year groups. Grammar, punctuation and spelling outcomes were particularly impressive, with a greater proportion of pupils achieving greater depth than the national average of 20%. This reflects the school’s success in embedding strong foundational skills in communication and language.

A Continued Focus on Maths:

Although Maths results were only two percent away from the national average, the school remains focused on further strengthening this area. Targeted interventions and curriculum enhancements are already in place to ensure future cohorts continue the positive trajectory seen in other subjects.

A Return to Pre-Pandemic Strength:

This year’s results mark a return to pre-pandemic levels of attainment, with the school emerging stronger than ever. The October 2024 Ofsted inspection affirms Dosthill’s progress, recognising the school’s commitment to high standards and inclusive education.
